Alan Cohen is a formally trained multi-instrumentalist. He teaches
guitar, bass and piano to students of all ages and levels. He is
well-versed in rock, jazz, blues, latin and classical music. He can
help you with technique, reading, improvised soloing, theory,
songwriting and composition, or just teach you your favorite songs.
Alan teaches out of his Chelsea studio, in a clean, friendly and
comfortable environment. He has four electric guitars, one acoustic
guitar, one electric bass, an electric keyboard and an upright piano
available for student use. Alan uses many of the books and notes
compiled at Berklee in his lessons, and supplements this material with
real world playing tips. He also uses his digital recording gear to
make rhythm section tracks that students can play along with, to
simulate an ensemble situation. Most importantly, music is downright
fun up at Studio 9C.
